The issue is limited to this specific group of Powerwall 2 customers and does not affect Powerwall 3. All affected units are being replaced at no cost to customers.
What Tesla Is Doing
- Nearly all affected units in the U.S. have already been remotely discharged, which renders them safe. Any remaining units are being discharged by our technicians.
- Affected customers are being notified through the Tesla app. For scheduling replacements, Tesla or Certified Installers will reach out directly by email or phone.
- Every affected Powerwall 2 unit will be removed and replaced at no cost to customers.
