Vehicle Labeling

It is important to understand your vehicle's original tire sizes and pressures, and the TPMLM (Technically Permissible Maximum Label Mass) and TPMAM (Technically Permissible Maximum Mass on Axle). This information can be found on two labels attached to Model X.

On vehicles manufactured before July 2017, all labels are located on the right side door pillar and can be seen when the front passenger door is open. On vehicles manufactured as of July 2017, the Tire Information label is located on the left side door pillar and can be seen when the driver's door is open.

Note
Depending on date the vehicle was manufactured, Model X may or may not have a towing label.

Towing capability is available only if Model X is equipped with the Towing Package. If equipped with the towing package, the Towing Label instructs you to refer to the owner's manual for tire pressures that should be used when towing a trailer. Do not use the tire pressures printed on the Tire Information Label. Instead, see the topic "Towing a Trailer" in the Driving section of the onscreen Owner's Manual.

Tire Information label

The Tire Information label provides:

  • The maximum number of occupant seating positions.
  • The size of the original tires.
  • The cold inflation pressures for the original front and rear tires. These pressures are recommended to optimize ride and handling characteristics.

Note
If Model X is loaded to its full capacity, double check all tires to ensure they are inflated to their recommended pressure levels.

Product Plate

The Product Plate provides the Maximum Allowable Total Mass. This is calculated as the weight of Model X, all passengers, fluids, and cargo.
