Connecting Powerwall to Wi-Fi
Connecting to Wi-Fi provides your Powerwall with a more stable connection to Tesla. With the Tesla app, you can configure the Wi-Fi settings of your Powerwall system. You can also update your network settings if you change your router or update your network connection. Your Powerwall is supported on 2.4 GHz networks with WEP/WPA1/WPA2 personal security as well as hidden SSIDs.
There are two methods for your Gateway to connect to or update your Powerwall’s Wi-Fi connection. The app will automatically select the connection method depending on your Powerwall’s internet connectivity.
If Powerwall is Disconnected from the Internet
Your Powerwall will always attempt to maintain an internet connection. However, it may disconnect from the internet if your Wi-Fi network has changed or if the local cellular network has gone offline. When your Powerwall is completely offline, a ‘Device Offline’ banner will be visible on the home screen, and recent power flow or energy data will not be visible. To configure Wi-Fi, go near your Powerwall and Gateway, and follow the steps below.
For Gateway 1 and Gateway 2

Troubleshooting
If the connection to the Powerwall Wi-Fi network fails, reset your Gateway or Powerwall, wait five minutes and try again.
A Wi-Fi signal strength between two or three bars is required for successful connection to your home network. If a signal strength of two or three bars is not achieved, relocate your access point.
