The Wall Connector is our recommended home charging solution, as it provides the most convenience with features like scheduling and other electric vehicle compatibility.

However, a Tesla vehicle can also be charged with the Mobile Connector. If you have an existing 230 V outlet at home, a Mobile Connector may be the best home charging option for you.

Both Wall Connector and Mobile Connector offer the same maximum charge rate (32A – up to 48.2 km/h) for Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive and Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive.

The Wall Connector could be installed on a 40A circuit breaker (32A output), or you can install a 230 V outlet with a 50A circuit breaker (32A output) and use the Mobile Connector with the blue adapter.

Regardless of charging speed, the Wall Connector may be the better option as it provides additional functionality that is not offered by the Mobile Connector, like other electric vehicle compatibility, scheduling and charging statistics.

Yes, but only for Tesla vehicles. Charging Access Control gives you full control over which Tesla vehicles are allowed to charge with your Wall Connector. You can restrict access directly through the Tesla app under 'Settings' without having to resort to a physical locking device. This is also possible during the commissioning process via Tesla One.
