You can change your Tesla design by reaching out to an advisor. Note that order changes may delay your delivery date.
To access documents in your Tesla Account prior to your delivery appointment, go to ‘Manage’, then ‘My Documents’. Your documents are also accessible by selecting 'Manage' in your Tesla app.
Once your VIN is assigned, it will be available in your Tesla app.

You can view your final invoice in your Tesla Account under ‘Documents’.
Tesla only accepts bank transfer, financing through a bank or leasing. Confirm your preferred payment method in your Tesla app in the Financing task or directly with your advisor. We require payment or a valid proof of payment prior to your delivery appointment.
To submit your final payment, view your final invoice or find the bank transfer details in the Final Payment task in your Tesla app and follow payment instructions. Delays in payment may affect your delivery date.
It is vital that you use your order reference number, the number starting ‘RN’, in its entirety as your payment reference number. Failure to do so can lead to delays in allocating your payment to your order.
When paid during working hours Monday to Friday, your Tesla app should display any payments made within several hours. Out-of-hours payments will show by midday the next working day.
Contact an advisor and we’ll look into this in more detail. We might need to verify a Proof of Payment clearly showing he date of the transaction, the amount paid, the reference used and the recipient's bank details.
Our Delivery Team will inform you if a down payment to Tesla is required. If it is required, your initial order payment will be deducted from the total down payment amount. Complete your down payment at least three days before your delivery date to allow time for it to be sent, received and processed before your appointment.

Approval requirements will vary and is at the discretion of the chosen lender. Typically, a minimum of three years of UK address history and a good personal credit rating is required for personal financing, and business financing requires at least two years of accounts registered with Companies House.
This will vary depending upon your chosen lender. You may see the decision instantly in your Tesla app, or you may need to wait approximately 48 hours to be/before being notified via email by the finance company. If you haven’t heard anything within five working days after submitting your application, contact an advisor.

Yes, you may choose to finance with another bank of your choice. Make sure to send the signed contract to your advisor and follow up with your bank to provide documentation and payment as soon as possible. This needs to be completed three days before your delivery date.
Yes, you can trade in your current vehicle. We accept all vehicles, including Tesla and non-Tesla.
If you have already placed your order, sign in to your Tesla app and follow the steps in the trade-in section. You will then be prompted to complete a self-inspection of your trade-in car. If you haven't placed an order yet, you can request a trade-in quote.
Depending on the expected delivery timeframe you will receive a final trade-in offer by e-mail in the 30 days before your final delivery date. Make sure to take the estimated delivery timeframe of your new Tesla into consideration, as trade-in quotes and offers are only valid for a limited time and distance driven.
An Estimated Offer is valid for 7 days. A Final Offer is valid for 30 days.
You may trade in your leased or financed car if your lessor or bank allows it. Tesla will pay off the balance of your current car after the delivery of your Tesla. You will need to provide a settlement letter valid for 14 days after your new vehicle’s Scheduled Delivery Date. Tesla will perform a lien check of your vehicle to verify if your vehicle is leased or financed.
All trade-in vehicles must have a valid MOT for at least 30 days after your delivery date. Cars must be on their DVLA issued age-related plates and we cannot accept cars on private, personalised registration plates.
You can only trade in your vehicle during your scheduled delivery appointment.
We will register your vehicle with the information you provided in your Tesla app.
No, your registration name must always match the name on your loan agreement.
Once a licence plate has been allocated to your vehicle, it will be visible on your Tesla app under Vehicle Details.
No, you may not use your current or existing licence plate number for new registrations. You can contact the DVLA after your delivery day, when your V5 has arrived in the post, to arrange for your private plate to be transferred to your new vehicle.
No, we will assign a registration plate, based on date and location.
Yes, you can raise a service request in the Tesla app after delivery. We can print your plates and ship them to you for a small fee.

Yes, it is compulsory to have motor vehicle insurance before taking delivery of your vehicle. We don't offer short-term driveaway insurance.
InsureMyTesla allows you to receive a quote before you know the VIN or delivery date. To finalise your insurance purchase, you require your Plate Number.
For new vehicle registrations, we only finalise the registration with the DVLA on delivery day. You will need to call and speak with your insurer to set up your policy as the plate will not show in their system until your delivery day.
You can track your Tesla directly through your Tesla app, which uses a GPS tracking system to locate your car.
