Vehicle Products on Your Apple Watch
The Tesla app provides you with controls to your Tesla vehicle, now directly from the Apple Watch.
Note: To access Tesla app on your Apple Watch for your vehicle products, you must have Tesla app version 4.39.5 or later and vehicle software version 2024.44.25 or later. Apple watchOS 11 or later is required.
With the Tesla app from the Apple Watch, you can explore the following:
- Watch Key: Pair your watch as a key to unlock and lock your vehicle without ever pressing a button, just like phone key.
- Frunk: Open your vehicle’s frunk.
- Charge Status: View your vehicle’s battery charge level.
- Charge Port: Open your vehicle’s charge port.
- Climate: Turn on climate control.
Make sure your mobile device is paired with your Apple Watch. To access the Tesla app on your Apple Watch, follow these steps:
- The first thing you see when you look at your Apple Watch is called the watch face. From the watch face, press the Digital Crown, located on the side of the watch.
- Turn the Digital Crown to view the available apps. Find and tap Tesla app.
- If you own a Tesla vehicle, the display will show your vehicle by default. To switch and view your energy product, tap on the top-right corner to change the product and select ‘Powerwall.’ If you do not own a Tesla vehicle, the display will show your energy product by default.
What do I do if I don’t see the Tesla app on my Apple Watch?
If you are having trouble accessing the Tesla app on your Apple Watch, make sure your iPhone and Apple Watch have the latest software update installed.

When I try to set up watch key on my Apple Watch, it fails. What do I do?
Make sure you are next to your vehicle when setting up your watch key. Also, if the vehicle is already connected to multiple phone keys, you may need to turn off Bluetooth on your mobile device to reduce the number of active connections to complete the watch key setup.
