Registering Your Tesla
Depending on your state, Tesla will either handle titling and registration for you, or process and mail you the documents you'll need to complete registration at your state’s motor vehicle department.
Most states provide Tesla approximately 30 business days to finalize registration or process your self-registration paperwork. Depending on your state, temporary license plates may be provided, so you can drive after taking delivery.
Tesla will start processing your documents once you've taken delivery and all payments have cleared. If any additional information is needed, Tesla will contact you to ensure your vehicle is registered as quickly as possible.

Tesla will title your vehicle and you will receive a self-registration packet. Tesla will title your vehicle and present the documents you'll need to complete registration at time of delivery (Idaho and Mississippi) or via mail or email (Indiana and Nevada). In Colorado, your DMV will notify you by mail once your vehicle is ready to be registered online. In Ohio, you will receive an OH title or OH Title Memorandum if financing. Any registration fees will be calculated and collected at the time of registration. |
