What to Browse

With the Tesla app from the Apple Watch, you can monitor your home in real time. Explore the following metrics for your energy system:

  • Home Metric: Monitor your home's energy usage. The value changes throughout the day as your home uses and produces energy from solar, Powerwall or the grid.
  • Solar Metric: View how much solar energy is being produced by your solar system. The value changes throughout the day as your solar system generates energy for your home.
  • Powerwall Metric: Observe the real-time behavior of your Powerwall throughout the day. The value changes as your Powerwall may be charging, discharging or in standby.

How to Access the App on the Apple Watch

Make sure your mobile device is paired with your Apple Watch. To access the Tesla app on your Apple Watch, follow these steps:

  1. The first thing you see when you look at your Apple Watch is called the watch face. From the watch face, press the Digital Crown, located on the side of the watch.
  2. Turn the Digital Crown to view the available apps. Find and tap Tesla app.
  3. If you own a Tesla vehicle, the display will show your vehicle by default. To switch and view your energy product, tap on the top-right corner to change the product and select ‘Powerwall.’ If you do not own a Tesla vehicle, the display will show your energy product by default.

How to Customize With Complications

The watch face is the first thing your Apple Watch displays when you raise your wrist to look at your Apple Watch. Within the watch face of your watch, you can have special features referred to as complications. Complications can instantly provide you with what you want to see such as time, weather and your energy product’s metrics.

The Tesla app on the Apple Watch includes the complication that provides metrics of your Tesla energy product. You can customize the complication based on your preferences. Review the example setting to explore the available options:

  • Top Left: Your home’s energy usage
  • Top Right: Your Powerwall’s stored energy level
  • Bottom Left: The energy generated by your solar system
  • Bottom Right: The Self-Powered value showing how much your home consumption was used from your solar system and/or Powerwall
  • Top Center: The energy generated by your solar system
  • Left Center: The solar offset value showing how much of your home consumption was offset by the energy generated by your solar system
  • Right Center: Your Powerwall’s stored energy level
  • Bottom Center: Your Tesla vehicle’s charge level

To set up the complication on your Apple Watch, follow these steps:

  1. On your mobile device, open the Watch app.
  2. Under My Faces, swipe through to view your collection of watch faces and select the watch face of your choice.
  3. View the list of positions for complications. Tap the position.
  4. The list is grouped by the name of the apps. Scroll until you find the Tesla app and select the complication of your choice.
