Refer and Earn

The Refer and Earn program gives both new and existing customers access to benefits when purchasing a qualifying Tesla product.

If you have credits from a previous version of the Refer and Earn program and you currently have a qualifying Tesla product, you can redeem those credits in the Tesla app up until their expiration date.

Note: To access this feature, you must have Tesla app version 4.37 or higher. Make sure you have the latest version of the app by updating the Tesla app on your mobile device.

Earn Buyer Benefits

To earn buyer benefits, you must purchase a qualifying Tesla product through a friend’s referral link and have never owned a qualifying Tesla product in the past.

To earn buyer benefits, follow these steps:

1. Visit your friend’s referral link.
2. Purchase the qualifying Tesla product of your choice from the referral link.

Buyer benefits are only available when purchasing your first qualifying Tesla product. Once you’ve made your first purchase, you no longer qualify for buyer benefits, but you may still be able to earn referrer and loyalty benefits.

Note: Referral links cannot be applied after you place your order. 

Earn Referrer Benefits

Share your referral link with your friends and receive referrer benefits when they purchase a qualifying Tesla product for the first time through your referral link.

To earn referrer benefits, follow these steps:

1. Open the Tesla app.
2. Tap the menu in the top-right corner.
3. Select ‘Refer and Earn.’
4. Tap ‘Refer Now.’
5. From your list of contacts, select the friend you’d like to refer and send the referral message.

After your friend places an order, your benefit will appear as ‘pending’ in the Tesla app until the Grant Date. Each referrer benefit expires 12 months after the Grant Date.

Note: Referral links cannot be applied after the order has been placed.

Earn Loyalty Benefits

Loyalty benefits are available if you currently have a qualifying Tesla product using the same Tesla Account and you are purchasing another qualifying Tesla product. Loyalty benefits are also available if you previously had a qualifying Tesla product in your Tesla Account and you use the same account to purchase another qualifying Tesla product.

To earn loyalty benefits, follow these steps:

1. Open the Tesla app.
2. Tap the menu in the top-right corner.
3. Select ‘Refer and Earn.’
4. Tap ‘Loyalty’ on the Earn tab to view qualifying products.
5. Purchase the Tesla product of your choice using your email associated with your existing Tesla products.

After you place the order, your benefit will automatically appear as ‘pending’ in the Tesla app until the Grant Date.

To be eligible to receive Refer and Earn benefits, you must have a qualifying Tesla product in your Tesla Account or be purchasing your first qualifying Tesla product through a valid referral link. Once you transfer or remove all qualifying products from your account, your referral link will no longer be valid, and you will not receive referrer benefits when your friend orders and takes delivery of their first Tesla vehicle until you take delivery of another qualifying Tesla vehicle during the timeframe of the program.

Effective October 4, 2024

By participating in Tesla’s Refer and Earn program, you are agreeing to these Terms and Conditions and understand that they are subject to change. Tesla customers must be at least 18 years old to be eligible for benefits, which are non-transferable and not redeemable for cash. Tesla customers can receive loyalty benefits up to 10 times over the life of the account. Tesla customers can also refer up to 10 order referrals per calendar year and the order must be placed using the customer’s referral link. Referral links cannot be credited after the order is placed and cannot be used by the same Tesla Account more than once.

All benefit redemptions are final - no returns or exchanges are accepted. The customer is responsible for all taxes and local requirements and fees. Merchandise and accessories benefits are only available in regions where Tesla Shop has launched. Only primary account holders can redeem benefits. Nothing in the Refer and Earn program shall be deemed to create any kind of relationship between the referrer and Tesla or any of Tesla’s Affiliates. The referrer has no authority to represent or bind Tesla. This program and its benefits are conditional on and subject to the local laws and regulations of the registration address of the referrer and buyer, respectively. 

We introduce programs such as these in good faith and expect the same good faith in return. The intent of this program is to reward loyal Tesla customers for sharing their passion for Tesla products with their friends and family. To be clear, paid advertising, selling or paying or offering incentives for use of referral links is not appropriate, and we will not honor referral links associated with behavior that violates these Terms and Conditions. Customers who have violated any Tesla policy are disqualified from this program. Additionally, we reserve the right to withhold benefits where we believe customers are acting in bad faith or otherwise acting contrary to the intent of this program. Tesla’s Refer and Earn program will not remain open indefinitely. If benefits are not used during the timeframe of the program, we reserve the right to cancel the benefits once the program ends. We cannot cover every nefarious scenario, nor will we attempt to, but we do promise to be fair and reasonable. If you disagree with us, it will be your responsibility to show us that you have not violated any Tesla policies or these Terms and Conditions. Tesla reserves the right to extend or end the referral benefit program at any time at its sole discretion.

You agree that you do not act as agent or authorised representative of Tesla when sharing your referral link and must only refer your friends and family who have provided their permission prior to sharing.
