Sustainability

Tesla vehicles are designed to last, and in most cases our Service Centres can help get you back on the road. Unfortunately, accidents do happen, and if your vehicle has reached the end of its life by being irrevocably damaged, the End-of-Life Vehicles Directive ensures a free take back service for the last registered keeper of the vehicle.

We have selected CarTakeBack to provide a free take back service for the last owner of Tesla vehicles in United Kingdom. CarTakeBack has a large network of Authorised Treatment Facilities that are fully licensed by the Environment Agency. For more information, visit CarTakeBack.

Recycling

We observe the Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009.

As a producer of industrial Lithium-Ion batteries, we take back waste industrial batteries supplied to an end user for treatment and recycling at no cost. As Tesla sells Lead-Acid batteries, Tesla is also considered a producer of Lead-Acid batteries in the UK. We collect waste automotive batteries for treatment and recycling—free of charge and within a reasonable time.

You can return end-of-life products, such as electronics with a size of up to 25 cm, to Tesla locations during working hours at no cost. To return industrial or automotive batteries, contact us and we’ll schedule an appointment with you.

We have agreements with third-party service providers to ensure the return and recycling of spare parts. You can return your end-of-life products free of charge to the following service providers:

  • Small batteries: Valpak
  • Electrical and Electronic Equipment: Valpak
