Full Self-Driving Capability Transfers

The offer for customers to transfer Full Self-Driving (FSD) capability from their current vehicle to their new vehicle ended on December 31, 2024.

Current Tesla owners may qualify for transferring Full Self-Driving (FSD) capability from their current vehicle to their new Tesla vehicle. Customers must have FSD capability on their current vehicle and take delivery of their new vehicle by December 31, 2024.

If you transfer Full Self-Driving capability from your current vehicle to your new vehicle, your current vehicle will only have access to basic Autopilot features. If you would like to have FSD capability features on both your current vehicle and your new vehicle, you can simply purchase FSD capability for your new vehicle without participating in this offer.

Note: Owners must notify Tesla of their intent to transfer Full Self-Driving capability and sign an agreement relating to the transfer prior to taking delivery of their new vehicle.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for this offer, you must:

Have placed the order for your new Tesla vehicle from October 10, 2024;
Have your new Tesla vehicle delivered between October 10, 2024 and December 31, 2024;
Be the legal owner and registrant of the current vehicle with Full Self-Driving capability purchased outright for at least 72 hours after delivery of your new vehicle;
Have the current vehicle and the new vehicle on the same Tesla Account; and
Agree to all additional terms and conditions

Note: Vehicles delivered prior to October 10, 2024, used vehicles, used inventory vehicles, vehicles owned by a business, vehicles used for commercial purposes and leased vehicles are not eligible. Vehicles declared a total loss are not eligible for an FSD capability transfer.

Once you’ve taken delivery of your new Tesla vehicle, FSD capability will be transferred to the new vehicle within 72 hours.

Note: It may take up to 48 hours to remove FSD capability from the current vehicle.
No. You can only transfer FSD capability once from your current vehicle to a new vehicle delivered between October 10, 2024 and December 31, 2024. FSD capability will then stay with the new vehicle.
Yes. Once you transfer your FSD capability, it will stay with the new vehicle. If you sell the new vehicle, FSD capability will stay with the vehicle and be available to the new vehicle owner.
Yes. If you are trading in your vehicle, the trade-in vehicle will be valued as though it has basic Autopilot as FSD capability will be removed and transferred to the new vehicle.
No. To receive an FSD capability transfer, you must take delivery of the new vehicle by December 31, 2024. We cannot guarantee delivery of your new vehicle before December 31, 2024.

Terms and Conditions

To receive this offer, you must meet all eligibility criteria and take delivery of the new Tesla vehicle between October 10, 2024 and December 31, 2024. Tesla may remove Full Self-Driving (FSD) capability from your new vehicle if we determine in good faith that you've breached any of these terms or made any misrepresentation about FSD capability on your current vehicle. Tesla reserves the right to change, modify or terminate this offer at any time without prior notice. Details about these terms and conditions will be provided to participants in their Tesla Account or in the Tesla app. Failure to follow and agree to all terms and conditions may result in reversal of the FSD capability transfer.
