Combining Systems with Powerwall

Powerwall can be integrated with a new or existing solar system. Adding Powerwall to your solar is the best way to maximise your system’s value, allowing you to use solar power day and night.

To ensure reliable operation during power outages, at least one Powerwall is required for each 5 kW AC of solar included in the backup circuit. 

Powerwall & the Grid

When Powerwall is installed without solar, it can charge from the grid with Backup Reserve or if Time-Based Control mode is enabled. Powerwall installations must also comply with local rules around grid charging.

Though Powerwall can operate when the grid is down, Powerwall must still be connected to the grid.

Powerwall & Other Renewable Energy Sources

If installed outside the backup circuits, Powerwall can also charge from other renewable energy sources like wind, hydro and co-generation.
