Ordering a Tesla Vehicle
Once you decide which model is right for you, you can place your order online or visit a Tesla store. The ordering process only takes a few minutes.
Schedule a test drive appointment online to experience driving a Tesla vehicle. Walk-in availability is limited, so we encourage you to schedule in advance. See how you can prepare for your appointment and what to expect for your test drive.
Design your Model 3 or Model Y. For more immediate delivery, explore the available inventory of Tesla vehicles in your area. When placing your order, you will pay a one-time, non-refundable order fee with a credit card.
After your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email with details about when you can expect your vehicle to be delivered. Delivery timing varies by model, location and current availability.
You can choose to lease the vehicle, purchase with financing or purchase outright. You may also be able to trade in your current vehicle and apply the trade-in value toward your new Tesla vehicle purchase.
Prior to your delivery date, confirm your payment method in your Tesla Account and finalise any outstanding balance. Final payment must be completed 48 hours prior to delivery, except when completing payment with a credit card which must be completed in person via CHIP+PIN authorisation.
For final payment, we accept:
- Bank transfer (direct deposit)
- Credit card (surcharge applies)
- Visa
- MasterCard
- American Express
Note: Leasing and financing are contingent on credit approval. Cheques of any kind are not accepted.
Your new Tesla vehicle may be eligible for EV incentives or rebates. Learn more about incentives available in your area.
Once your order has been placed, use the same email address and password you used to place your order and sign in to your Tesla Account. In your account, follow the prompts to provide your information, including your trade-in, registration and delivery details.
If you are trading in your current vehicle, ensure you have all items prepared including all spare keys, service history and additional vehicle accessories to prevent a delay in your delivery and provide a smooth transfer of ownership. If you do not have these items or there is undisclosed damage to your vehicle, contact your Tesla Advisor prior to delivery.

To prepare for delivery day and ensure you have a seamless experience, we recommend completing all pre-delivery tasks once a vehicle has been assigned to your order, such as submitting your registration details, payment method, trade-in payoff amounts and other necessary documents prior to your appointment.
